Progressive rate springs start off with a less stiff spring rate (better ride), but as you continue to compress the spring, the spring stiffness incressess (good handling). The fixed rate spring will only be able to do one thing, good ride or good handling.
The cars that I have been in with progressive rate springs had a really nice ride compared to the cars with FMS springs. The only problem with my experince is that all the cars that had FMS springs were Fox's and the progessive rate springs were SN95's. The 2 bodies handle differently that my experience is a little skewd. Don't for get your shocks and struts either, they make a difference in ride quality too. Hope that helps. |
