![]() Well, as you might have guessed, we're usually not all that interested in Chevy's around here but I checked it out and it looks interesting; possibly a replacement for the Camaro without calling it that. The turbocharged 315 HP 5-cylinder sounds potent, in a weird, european way.
The Chevy Bel Air name goes back to around 1952 when they were still cranking out wheezy six cylinder grocery-getters at Chevrolet. It's pathetic how these companies drag out these ancient but sometimes still-respected marques and slap them on cars that have zero relationship to the original or (usually) are just another Totota/Honda imitation with an American nameplate, like the Impala. One important thing to remember: this is a concept car and usually they either don't make it to production (common) or they have a ton of changes by the time they get into production to accomodate the EPA, safety concerns and warranty considerations for the manufacturer. We'll see, meanwhile I'm more interested in the 2003 Cobra. |
