Good to know. Thanks for the info. I thought 6,000 may be a bit long to go w/o a change. Sounds like something you CAN do, but might not be the best idea.

I wouldn't feel safe leaving ANY oil in for 10,000 miles! I'd rather use the cheap stuff and replace it every 2,000 miles, like Mr. 50 said. I like the idea of fresh oil in the crank case, also.

Do you think the metal shavings in the oil could present a problem, in the long run, if you leave the oil in for 10,000 miles?

I think I'm going to stay with the Mobil 1, and change it every 3000 or 4000 miles. It may cost more, but it makes me feel better and should help the engine life.
