![]() If you buy a late-model GT you'll have a nice street car with 13-second capabilities but you'll spend a lot of money (cash or payments plus interest) and lose quite a bit on depreciation.
If you sink the same money into the '87, you'll have a fantastic street car but probably never recoup the money you've invested, plus, you'll still have a 15-year-old car, although with all new parts. If it were me, I would want the late-model GT as my daily driver. Do a few minor mods (i.e. rear gears) and enjoy it while slowly building up the '87 as my drag car and not having to compromise on either car. Daily driver GT, all-out drag car '87. Nice. That it may take longer to build the '87 is a given, but you'll have more time to work on it, too and you won't have to compromise the power modifications by trying to keep it 'streetable'. |
