Thanks for the info, but apparently the reproduction emblems come with a larger peg than the originals (which I don't have to compare). The reproductions came with 1/8" barrel nuts and through trial and error I had to drill the holes 3/16" for the nuts to go into. Probably should have installed after the paint job but went ahead and installed now since they were very difficult to get in and didn't want to damage new paint. Had to use a regular hammer and they're real tight (rubber hammer, pencil eraser, etc, would not work). I have one that's loose because that hole had body filler in it. It's staying in for now but hope it doesn't pop out when it's time to put emblem on. If it doesn't, I fear I'll have to remove fender and put on a regular self-threading type nut to hold it.
