![]() The 87-91 Mustang 302 is very reliable as I can attest, having owned a '90 LX since it was new and with only some minor enhancements to the car, I now have over 117,000 miles on it with few problems beyond normal wear and tear replacements (clutch, brakes, tires, batteries, water pump, struts & shocks, exhaust).
Stories like mine abound with Mustang owners. Of course some are beat on and abused, too, but most Mustang 5.0's are still viable and running strong. 350 RWHP would require a substantial investment . A supercharger along with the right heads and all the related accessories would do it but the 5.0 bottom end would need strengthing at that point. Nothing money can't accomplish. Stock 5.0 RWHP is around 190 so you're looking to gain 160 HP - which is a lot but quite possible and certainly rewarding. |
