				 | Sound They both have something to offer, lot of variables here. I have a Mac H-pipe with converters, and 2 chamber flowmasters with full tailpipes, and it sure does not sound like I have converters on it. An X-pipe does not sound any different at lower rpm's but get it up in the rev range and it takes on a real surreal sound, they sound awesome upstairs on the upper end of the tach, and build a little more high rpm power, reason they work on 4V 4.6 Cobras so well. In the end it is all a matter of personal taste and sound you like, only thing I can tell you,get out and listen to some cars with both on them, with cats, and without cats on them.

				 | Like everyone else says, it is all in what you like to hear. If you don't like loud *** exhaust, get a x pipe. If you want your car as loud as it can possibly be, get an h pipe. I have an o/r H pipe with 2 chamber flows. No tailpipes, just turndowns. It ain't loud enough for me. But I love the sound of the flows, so I am leaving it like it is. You can feel the exhaust beating off of the road in the seats. The difference between the two is that the h is louder, but the x makes more power. Not that much difference in power though. A big difference in sound.

				 | Flowmaster sound good with an h-pipe, x-pipe sound good with mufflers like borla, bassani, dynomax, or turbo mufflers, not saying you cant mix match, i heard 1 chbrs flows with an x-pipe and longtubes, it made my car sound like a wimp, and mines pretty loud.

				 | Heard a 1996 gt with a Mac Tru Fit 2.5 inch catback with flowpath mufflers, and a bassani o/r x-pipe. Talked to the guy for a few minutes, and the car sounded sweet the whole time it was ideling, however, when he shifted, or let off the gas, it sounded like the thing was backfiring. I have heard that this is the expanding/contracting of the x-pipe. 2 days later, I heard a 1997 gt with the same catback, and a Mac Prochamber o/r H-pipe, and there was no backfiring. Also, it was much louder than the x-pipe. If you ask me though, nothing beats a off road h-pipe with 2 or 3 chamber flows. |

				 | well the backfire when he shifted was cause he had a leak in his exhaust, i know cause it happened to me and freaked me out. my 02 sensor block off (carb car) backed out and it was backfiring in the exhaust.
