I have never met a person that races that way. I haven't owned a vehicle with an auto tranny in several years, but you better believe it had a quality tach in it. I'm very surprised by your having trouble understanding, but maybe you just never owned a vehicle with an automatic. I do see your point, but I don't know anyone who just drops it in drive and leaves it there.

Besides, the tach does a whole lot more than just help you with your shift points!
