Before I put my C&L on, I modified my air silencer...
Cut a little off the end and use a 4" tube to reach into the fender, worked for me...a noticeable improvement. (the tube gets placed inside the silencer) Try it and watch during the upper RPM's, they climb a little faster without the silencer. My experience.
