![]() '69 351W heads are the best of the stocks, but IMO they still suck. They have 1.84/1.54 valves, TINY! If you want stock, go with the '69s, they'll have a casting number of C9XX----........
If you have the money, go with a set of aftermarkets with bigger valves. TFTW heads have 2.02/1.60 valves, are about $1100, and you don't have to flycut the stock pistons. Performer RPMs have 2.02/1.60s and are about the same price, but you do have to flycut the pistons. Performer heads have 1.90/1.60 (I think???) but they work with the stock pistons. There are many, many options out there for aftermarket heads. The 3 I listed are all aluminum, but there are plenty of iron ones, too. |
