I understand exactly what you mean, and I'm only 24. Every once in a while, I'll mention something that happened to me when I was 16 or 17, and suddenly pause as i realize in horror that it took place 7 or 8 years ago!!
I remember the times when i couldn't remember anything from 8 years ago. It really does freak me out sometimes. Oh, and I've started calling 17 and 18 year olds "dumb kids" a lot of the time, (just the stupid ones) and without thinking about. That really freaks me out, lol.
