Wow, that does suck having been away that long. I'm happy for you.
Of course, not to play the i've got it worse game, but, my GT has been down for about 16 months.  As far as the vette goes, though, it's still worth a try. I only lost to a hard top 6spd by about 1 car length in the LX. you might as well go for it just for fun.
