Never on a stang. I have heard them on a '01 ss with gutted cats. Have you ever heard a LS1 with an exhaust leak? That is exactly what it sounds like. I venture to say the stang will sound the same. It's pretty nasty. I tried the mufflers with no pipes at all, and the exhaust smell in the car was unbearable. I cut about 10" to 12" off of the original tailpipe, the end with the turndown by the bumper, and welded them to the back of the mufflers. Although it is not as loud as with no pipes at all, I like the sound alot better. It gave it more of a performance car sound than just a loud as hell rumble. But that is just my opinion. The best way for you to find out what you want is trial and error. Caymon
