Can you replace the middle part in your steering wheel without the airbag blowing up?

Call bureau of automotive repair in your area ... they are generally very picky about air bags and i'm sure would frown on putting an incorrect one on. It may be functionally the same but it is a cobra with a non cobra module so technically it still isn't the proper application!
I work for an insurance company and i control that final check, and i assure you under those circumstances they wouldn't get paid until they made it right !
