My old t-5 was low on atf fluid for a while, i think it leaked, but shortly after it started whineing bad, and worse in 3rd, eventually leaving the grocery store, it broke i only had 4th gr to get home on. when we took it apart the 3rd gr cluster was broke in pieces..

change the fluid, and be easy on it, mine was abused on sticky tires too, along with high mileage, but my rebuilt t-5 is slowly beggining to increase gear noise after some hard driving.
