The 4.2's have a longer stroke crank, and most kits use the crankshaft, rods and pistons out of a 4.2L V6 truck engine (same engine), while others charge more and upgrade everything to forged. Also, i believe you'd have to get your engine block clearanced for the longer throw of the crankshaft. I believe the bottom end of a 4.2L truck engine will bolt right in with your cylinder heads and intake manifold with no problems. There's alot of info out there in the internet, so hopefully people can be more helpful than i am
