![]() If the lower was not professionally ported, that is probably what is holding you back. I was going to suggest gears and my ported lower until I saw your going to a 331 later which my lower is marginal on due to the added cubes - good to only about 5,500 rpm on a 331. A Cobra would be good to 6,500 rpm on a 331. Why don't you cruise the "for sale" adds on the forums and try to find a used Cobra or Explorer intake. Get that for $150 and you might be able to do gears to. Then address that traction issue with some real slicks!
