First off if you have cats you better have a smog pump or they "will" clogg up on you rather quickly.
Too remove it just unbolt it and remove it and all of its components. Then run a short belt. I have eliminated the a/c, power steering and smog pump and the engine compartment looks alot cleaner. Good luck,
