these 5.0s are torquey beasts!
first off, i think you OWNED that fool... tire spin is acceptable, but going up in smoke is abuse  as soon as i detect tire spin, i let off the pedal until it hooks, then lay into it hard. when you are moving there is much less chance of going up a second time. I would suggest Nitto DRs or BFG DRs. both are very forgiving... i dropped a full second on my 1/4 mile times by changing tires to drag radials in the cobra. what's the deal with the 4.6 Fox? put a supercharger and 4.10s in it and you should ahve a streetable and powerful car that is unique...rare, anyway.  i've been gone a long time, maybe you've already hashed that one out...
