Total BS. Stock T-5's DO need the stops. I've seen tons of broken shift forks on T-5's. The ultra gay and weak stock stops aren't worth a damn. There is a ton of flexing at the end of the throw. You've supost to put the shifter in gear with the stops all the way out. Then tighten the stops up till they just barely touch, then back them off 2 turns. That will allow you to still fully engage the gear. My theory is that if you blow your tranny up because you can't set a pair of stop right you don't need to me hot rodding cars. -Josh, aka the tireburner
