Great minds think alike!!
I was thinking about putting a gauge in that vent by the A pillar too but I didn't know where to run the wires. They would have to be run somewhere out of the way so that the plactic face plate cover would fit over the cluster panel again. As far as mounting them above the glove box, I have seen gauges that were slightly tilted at an angle so that you would be able to see them better from over there. I forget where I saw them though.
