That may cause the problem. Try spraying some contact cleaner into the MAF sensor, then reset the ECU and give it a go. Spray down the sensor 2-3 times, wait in between for 30-60 sec for the last spray down to dry.
Normal electronic contact cleaner availble pretty much at any auto parts store will have some, cost like 3-5 bucks for a can.
