![]() no don't shift at 5800RPM, thats way too high for a stock motor, many people here will tell you to shift about 5300+/-100RPM
for air pressure, air your fronts up to 45psi for less rolling resistance, and take the rears down to 25 or so when mine was an AOD, it was fastest when i shifted at 5300rpm and held the highest RPM that the brakes can hold at the light, then stomp it off the line, you probably wont spin any at all with a stock geared convertable AOD, make sure you do the 1-d-1 shift so you can shift it at a higher RPM, i wouldn't expect your car to run any quicker than a 15.5, unless your are very close to sea level and its cool out, good luck ------------------ 88 Notch, B&M Ripper, 3.73's, Ported E7's, Explorer int. w/ ported lower, pulleys, 1.7RR's, BBK headers, off-road H-pipe, flowmasters, subframes, 65mm TB, March ram air ,MSD coil, U/L control arms, 155lph f/p, Crane Adj.FPR, Nitto drag radials, best 1/4--> 13.76@101.4 on a 2.17 60ft |
