![]() If you go with a high volume oil pump, make sure your oil gallery plugs are threaded. Stock blocks have pressed in oil gallery plugs and a high volume pump will push them out at about 5,600 rpm. If your engine builder prepped the block, it's probably already been done. My engine builder said you don't need high volume pumps for small block fords. Everybody has their own preferences though. I just ran the stock oil pump with threaded plugs and have had no problem. My engine goes as high as 6,900rpms.
