I say you need around 3000.
The advertised stall speed will change w/ the weight of your car and hp it makes.
Like.. a car the same weight as you but 150 hp more..will have a stall speed of say...3200 w/ the same converter you have that stalls at 2800 for you. get it???
I used to have an AOD car and w/ a 2200 converter..it seemed almost stock.
Look into changing the first gear in your c-4, redline clutches, and hardened input shaft.
You would rather do it once and be done w/ it.....
