I bought some 1.6 roller rockers and plan on putting them on soon. I was told that the increase in lift wouldn't be enough to worry about. I've got the Ford GT-40 crate motor with GT-40 iron heads and the E-303 cam(.498 lift). Is there any danger with putting the 1.6 roller rockers on as far as piston to valve clearance. I was told they would increase my lift by 30 thousands.

1.6 is the stock ratio... you mean 1.7's?

Well I bought the 1.6 rockers. If they don't increase lift I guesss that's OK, or maybe I'll sell them and put the 1.7s on.

Is it the 1.7s that increase lift and could I safely put them on. Thanks for the info. |

You might be getting confused with chevy. They use 1.5 stock ratio so 1.6 is a popular swap for more lift. Ford uses 1.6 stock (sb windsor motors) so 1.7 is then used for more lift.

I had a friend that ran the 1.7 Rockers in his 95 GTS with an F303 cam with no problems. I don't remember the lift of the F cam, but its supposed to be the most radical of the motorsport cams.

If you already have the 1.6 I wouldn't buy another pair to go to 1.7. I don't think it would be worth the money.
