Rocket99GT, your math is a little off.
The '88 with the extra 30hp puts it at 255hp,just 5hp behind the 260hp of the 2000GT. You said the 2000 would still be 30hp ahead even with the mods of the '88(How do you figure that?)
BTW, '88 stangs were rated at 225hp not 220
Torque is what actually moves a car, not HP.
HP is a byproduct torque which only dictates max speed. With that in mind, the '88 will have more TORQUE plus better torque multiplication with the 3:73's
The '88 should win but then again you must factor in the skill of the drivers.
All in all it should prove to be a good race!
