GTA's are slooooowwww!!!!! I had an 88 that I built the heck out of. The 1990 and later L98's run a lot better. They went from early mass air to speed density in 1990. GTA's are heavy cars. They weigh 3500-3600 lbs and have 240 hp. Mine and many other 87-89's ran low 15's stock around 90-92 mph. The later ones ran in the mid-high 14's around 95-96 mph. The advertised hp is not higher, but they do make more power.

All the 5.7's are automatics with the 700R4. They can launch pretty good out of the hole. Mine got 1.8 60 foots on street tires all day long after gears and some motor work.

You should take him. Just be careful on the holeshot. From a roll you walk right by.
