These guys are right but there is one more thing to keep in mind, the water pump from older models is different , late eightys are aluminum, with certain holes for mounting bracketry, some earlier models are steel with different mounting bracket bosses. iv'e been through this little timing cover thing and when you find out the hard way , far from your tools, it sucks.when you purchase the timing cover gasket set you will find at least 3 different gaskets for this.This mounting stuff could become an issue for you.
