They have a silent type timing chain instead of a double roller, i'm not sure when they converted from a flat tappet cam to a roller cam so i don't know about that, they came with cast iron exhaust manifolds, most years came with the same heads as the mustang, The firing order is also different because of the camshaft. Also because of the cam, they have a lower power band to match the more restrictive intake manifold/intake plumbing and single exhaust. I believe they had something like 160 horsepower or something along those lines, but i'm not absolutely sure.
- I also think that the trucks got cast pistons whereas mustangs got forged aluminum up until '93 where they were hypereutectic cast
