Hey,
In all fairness, that was a heavy loaded car with the auto that probably runs 14.6-14.7s compared to your car with a stick and mods to remove some of the weaknesses. It's all a matter of perspective. I'm sure if I took you for a ride in my car and then you went back in yours, it would feel slower also. If I were looking for a new Mustang to mod, I would definitely avoid heavy convertibles plus coupes are cheaper.

Currently running 3.33 pulley at 12-13 psi with AFM powerpipe, but not dynoed yet. Longtubes, Cat-H-pipe, Ported stock heads & SVO Intake are next.
