![]() The IMRC is the Intake Manifold Runner Control. Right before the intake ports there is set of port throttles. At low RPMs (<3250) the engine only breaths through one set of intake ports. This increases the intake velocity and makes for better mixing and better low end torque. At higher RPMs (>3250) the throttles are opened and the engine breaths through all 16 intake valves.
Sometimes you can hear them. The solenoid is actually under the intake manifold, but for what ever reason, in the car it sounds like its coming from the glove box. |
