![]() It depends. My 96 had 2.73s in it also. Just look on the rear end differential. There is a metal tag that'll tell you what gear ratio is in it. For example, for 2.73s with posi it'll read 2L73. The L means you have the stock posi-trac. 2 73 is 2.73s without the posi. The other gears are 3L08, 3 08, 3L27, 3 27. 3.08s were not standard, though. This is an easy way to tell what gears are in your stang, stock.
