![]() I was wondering what all of you with naturally asperated 306 are running. My brother is interesed in building one,but I say he should do a 331-347 combo. Lets here the truth, since were the ones doing it.Lets see those slips.

![]() 11.99 seconds - 114.5 mph
Should have gone faster, that's for sure. Had problems with the guy on the shifter/clutch last year though that really held the car back. I swapped out the T5 for a Lentech AOD, so he should be able to drive the car better this year. Who are we kidding...the driver was me :^) You can see last year's setup in the user's rides section here at MW. ------------------ Jeff Chambers Trophy Stock #3 11.97 Seconds / 114.5 MPH Chambers Racing Team |

![]() MM&FF's new issue attacks just such an issue. They run a 306 against a 347 carbed combo and dyno'ed them. All told, the 347 ran about 60hp better. With that being said, it depends on the design of the kit as to how well it'll run. All things being equal the 347 should run noticably harder. Although, 306s are cheaper for the more budget minded. And if you can make a 306 run as good or better than a 347, you've got that little added bit of respect. Personally, I'd do a 331. More power than a 306 but better rod/stroke ratio for increased longevity.

![]() Not to mention you can still put the squeeze on a 331 for outrageous power.

![]() My carbed 306 has gone 12.7@107, 3200LBS, Im hoping to go faster as everything is out of the box, completely untuned. Im hoping with some good tuning, maybe porting the heads to see 11s, but I think realisticly 12.2-12.3. GOOD LUCK

![]() Great info guys/gals! I appreciate the help.
I didn't think a 306 could go that far w/o a power adder. Thanks ------------------ 88 NOTCH DSS 331CI C-4 BRAKE 4:10'S 11.5-1 DART IRON HEADS X-CAM 1.7 ROCKERS 8PT. CAGE BEST 10.9@125MPH 100% STREETALBE TO ME!!! |
