Question Bypassing Ford Mustang Amp

Please help, how do you bypass the sdpeaker amp in the ford mustang and where is the amp located? I have a new Aiwa head unit and most say to dump the ford unit and run speakers off the Aiwa. Any help would be appreciated.

I know that you can find a plug & play harness to do just that -- check the web -- "Ford Mustang Audio" search string should get you some sites which handle that.

In a 2000 mustang, the amp is located just forward of the shifter copnsole, under the audio components stack -- bolted to the floor of the car. You have to remove the head unit and trim surround to get to it.

I helped a buddy do it, and he gave me his old cd player and amp -- which I'm trying to find a harness for -- If you have an extra harness please let me know.
