Changing Axles
What other parts need to be changed out when changing a rear axle (other than the axle). Please be specific, thanks!

if your talking about changing axle shafts when i did mine all i did was switch the shafts and refill the fluid but my bearings and seals where still good hope this helps

If you've got high miles or it is a "one wheel peeler" then I'd suggest getting a trak loc rebuild kit and install that at the same time.
It includes a bottle of friction modifier, new clutches, steels and shims. I put one in mine last summer and it made a HUGE difference. Before only one wheel would spin most of the time, and after not only would both wheels spin but I could easily cut donuts going to the right I got mine for like $65 from a ford dealer. But i believe Summit carries them too, maybe cheaper hope this helps, -Drew
