![]() I found a freakin roof dent that I didnt notice before.
Its actually two very shallow dents on the roof. Is there any way in hell that I can remove these dents without drilling, bondo, and priming? Could I somehow go into the cabin and pound them out from the inside? They are at the most maybe 1/2 inch deep. Not collision guage, more like drunken punches guage. |

![]() I'm sure one of those dent removal places can get them out. But they would have to get passed the headliner and to the metal. From what I understand they rub the metal from the inside with various size rods until the exterior dent surface is smooth with the surrounding metal.

![]() Hey, lucky me, there is no headliner. The car is stripped for the most part, I just bought it.
And I'm trying not to take it to a dent removal place...How much would that freakin cost? Besides, I think that if I towed this thing up to the shop they'd just laugh at me. Last edited by Budiak; 06-11-2002 at 01:14 PM.. |

![]() The suction cup/ slide hammer tools work pretty well for gross roof dent removal, but I still had to do minimal thickness bondo work to get it just right.

![]() These are not "high tech" and not "high expensive" stores. I used them on my car. These are available at the local paint/body stores. You do have to be ready to do body work for these stores to take much interest in you though.

Are you talking about the tools, the labor, what are you talking about? Can I get the tools to do it at Sears was the question, I dont know what question you answered but it wasnt mine. I'm ready to do any bodywork myself, I'm in this for satisfaction of a job well done...by me. I dont want anybody touching my car except for paint...maybe for paint. I know its foolhardy, but I've got to do it. |

![]() All Rev meant(I think) was that yes they are available at Sears, but you can also get them just about anywhere else. So unless you work at Sears, or are planning on stealing them from Sears, don't pay the Sears price. The Autozones around my area even sell all that stuff. If it's in the restoration stage, just bondo it. If used correctly, bondo is a usefull tool in itself.
