![]() Went recently to my local DynoJet shop to make an appointment for a dyno run. While talking to the the guy about cars in general, he showed me a current project for a Viper engine Dodge pick up truck.
The project was a rear mounted turbo for the V-10 engine. It was a true rear (where the spare tire would be) turbo off the exhaust pipe with a custom boost pipe from the rear to the the engine intake. I was surprised as hell. I've never heard of such a thing before. He said (Roy at TNT Motosports) that he had done several on Vipers and that it worked very well, losing only about 1 psi boost over a conventional front mounted turbo. It does use the stock headers, so that is an advantage, probably saving a bunch of $$$. I like these guys a lot. They make 1000 hp Vipers for a living, but will still dyno my car for $75 a pop. I recommend them to any one in the Houston area. TNT Motorsports. Rev
