Exclamation The drive shaft counter weight

I am looking at buying a 1994 Mustang 3.8L V6. The car 100,000 miles on it. In a recent email from the owner, he said that the drive shaft counter weight needs to be removed because it is causing the underneath to rattle. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this problem, and could explain what is happening. Thanks
