Right now I'm running 10.5:1 on 92octane pump gas...I have a new set of heads I want to put on the car, but with the pistons I have the compression ratio will jump to about 11.25:1 does anyone know if this will work? I have run 11:1 on 92 octane along time ago when the gas wasn't 10% ethanol and all....email me if you can! Thanks

You may or may not have problems with that much compression. Seems you are on the edge though and I think you will likely have some problems at some time. 10.5-1 would be the most I would feel comfortable with. David ------------------ David Gagnard |

I have seen it work before on a 88 Mustang. He had aluminum heads, Hood scoop (cooler air intake temp), not much timing, and used a bottle of 104 Octane booster in every tank of gas.

I cannot guarantee it will work on your car because of obvious reason---not all 11.25:1 motors are the same. I would have the heads worked on to reduce the compression to be on the safe side. Oh try it----you may may work!!!! Be sure to check your piston to valve clearance. Good luck. ------------------ 347 SVO block, 21# of NOVI boost, Edelbrock heads,150 shot NOS, SVO EPEC, Tremec TKO, Griggs (Torque arm, Panhard bar, Front end), and still street legal. Kinda. |
