![]() the boot has the ability to interfere with the stops if you are using a long knob (leather with the longer neck). You will eventually wear through the boot and hopefully that will be all. You run the risk of killing gears if it is not fully engaging due to contact between the boot and stop. I went with a standard short knob(also adds some to the notchiness, which I love) and the Ford SVO boot and have had no problems. I got the boot from Mustangs Unlimited and it looks great, though does install differently than the stocker. Give this idea a try and you will be happy with the results.
