Well, the insurance will be lower than it could have been, considering you're buying a V6 'Stang rather than a V8.

I'd expect that you're gonna get some pretty high estimates, if you've never been insured before. Some tips to lower your rates:

-if you've had driver's ed and can produce evidence of this, you'll get a discount for a certain number of years or until you're 18. Every company/state does this a little differently.

-good grades can get you a discount, if you're still a student.

-safety equipment like passive restraint, airbags, and/or antilock brakes can lower your rates.

-an alarm can also get you a discount.

For full coverage on my V8 convertible last year, I paid about $150 per month with Allstate. But my driving record was a few years ago somewhat spotty, with two license suspensions during my freshman year at college. Once I turned 25, that dropped to about $110 per month. That is a nice thing about getting older

Keep your driving record clean (I know, easier said than done) and your rates will drop over time. For know, try getting the car jointly-registered to you and your Dad, put the car on his policy with him as the primary driver and you as an occasional driver. That saved me a lot of money in my younger years. But it only works if you have a good relationship with your Dad, because on paper he'll be a half-owner of the car.

Hope this helps and enjoy your new ride!
